Common questions
Which iPhones does it work on?
iPhones with a LiDAR scanner: iPhone 12 Pro and every Pro and Pro Max model since. On other iPhones the app will tell you, and you can still try it on the demo greens.
How do I get a good scan?
Hold the circle steady on your ball and tap Mark Ball, then do the same at the hole. Sweep slowly along the line between them, and get close to the hole — the scanner only reaches a few metres.
Why did I get “a direction, not a line”?
The scan was too thin to trace an exact path to the hole, so PuttCaddy shows only what it could measure: uphill or downhill, and which way the putt breaks. Tap Scan Again and walk the line, getting close to the hole.
Can I use it in a competition?
No. The Rules of Golf (Rule 4.3) don't allow a device that gauges slope or suggests a line during a competitive round. PuttCaddy is for practice, lessons and casual rounds.
Does it need an internet connection?
No. Everything happens on your iPhone.
How do I delete saved putts?
Swipe left on a putt in your history, or open it and tap the bin icon. Deleting the app removes them all.
